Critical Info Providers

Critical Info Providers

I saw this website on TV over the holiday weekend and just now had a chance to check them out. This is a great way to get information to authorities fast. This can also be used in combination with my camera phone post about picture taking of your little ones at the beginning of public events. Just think, while at the amusement park and your little ones gets lost, Critical Info Providers will email your child’s vital info in the matter of minutes to the authorities. According to statistics from their website,

The first 3 hours after a loved one is missing are the most critical
It can take detectives an average of 4 hours to receive the information on missing love ones, and sometimes days. 67% of Alzheimer’s patients are at one time reported to the police as missing.

There is a $30 registration fee per family and $5 for each individual registration. I pulled the following additional information from their website.

When a family learns a loved one is missing through child abduction, Alzheimer’s, kidnapping, mental disabilities, natural disasters, or by any other unexpected means, law enforcement needs critical information, i.e. recent photographs, height, weight, fingerprints, dental records, list of friends, places they frequently visit, and a list of medications. You may not be at a suitable location to provide this critical information. Furthermore, you may not be able to provide this information due to the stressful situation.
How does one provide this information to law enforcement when you are not at the scene and when your mind is in a state of panic?

You are a phone call away. You notify C.I.P. and we will immediately email this information for you to the local and surrounding law enforcement agencies needing the information. As the investigation expands, so will our services. C.I.P. has the capabilities to email this information to law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Offers its members an emergency 24 hour hotline
Distributes information and picture to law enforcement nationwide
Provides a professional sketch artist in the event your loved one is not found

How to destroy a dinner in 30 seconds

Part II of Wednesday night Thanksgiving dinner

This is a follow up to Wednesday night’s Thanksgiving dinner. As you remember, MB had just informed me that we were actually having my mother-in-law and company to join us for dinner. MB (Mommy Bacchus) was ordering me around to do or get various items for the meal, and I hadn’t even time to gather my thoughts about what was about to happen. Before I knew it, the doorbell rang and in comes our guests. My mother-in-law, my niece and my mother-in-law’s friend all had seats and I prepared drinks/wine. I watched the movie “Sideways” this summer and now thought I knew something about wine. I purchased the some Pinot Gringio (Sp??) and thought it was a white wine. Since everyone wanted white wine I thought I had made the perfect choice until I opened the bottle. Since that was all I had I handed it out and the friend just starred at the glass in my hand and wouldn’t take it until I told her that this was all I had. She looked at me like I was a sorry excuse for a bartender.

The friend, my niece and I sat in the living room waiting for the meal to finish and the friend took out some knitting materials and began to finish a cute sweater she was working on. My niece ,who is not even 17, stated that she wanted a sweater just like that when her baby comes in a few months………….(Skreeeeeeeecccchhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!)

Hold it…..what did she just say?????

Did she say baby?????

“Oh they didn’t tell you? I’m five months pregnant.”

This is how you destroy a dinner in less than 30 seconds.

I was there the day my niece was born and I can’t see her having a baby so soon. Unfortunately, she can barely take care of herself.

For me the entire evening was over. Dinner was great, conversation was good, but I was pre-occupied with this baby thing. I really couldn’t focus and enjoy the dinner. Overall the evening was fine, although, they took most of the leftovers with them, I really didn’t have anything to complain about. No fights, no disagreements and no injuries during the evening.

It hit me all at once. I was getting old……………….

Someone who I watched grow up is having a baby. I have a four-year old and I still don’t feel mature enough to handle this parenthood thing…..this consumed me the entire weekend. Except while I watched the Texas v. Texas A&M football game when A&M scarred all the Texas fans to death during the first half…(Keep coach Fran!!!)

How could this be???? My vision of old people were ones who walked with canes, or were in the hospital, or lived in nursing homes. I was getting old and didn’t know how to deal with it…..Unfortunately, my wonderful dinner didn’t go too well for me. How do others deal with this new revelation?????
