Mission: Impossible III
I have been seeing ads for MI 3 for a couple of weeks now, and every time one comes on I stop what I am doing and watch to see if they show a new scene. Don't you just love the promos for this movie? Although I have been a fan of Tom Cruise's acting since "Risky Business," I have not been a fan of him as a person for a while. I hope that this is not one of the movies where the only good scenes are in the ads. I have also been a fan of Ving Rhames since "Pulp Fiction" and wish I would see him in more stuff. The characters that Ving plays remind me a lot of myself. Cool, deliberate and precise……Yup, that's me, at least in my dreams. I loved MI 1 and not that happy with MI 2, so hopefully MI 3 will be worth paying to go see it in the theatres. Since BJ was born, I have been on the "DVD Movies Schedule" of keeping up with movies. Only something really special will get me to watch something real time. So if anyone has a chance to see it, please give me your thoughts so I can make a decision to plunk down my hard-earned cash.

Thanks, I found the Dallas Morning News review after I wrote this post. I will probably go next weekend.
I think I’ve only seen MI 1, but I’ve also heard through reviews that #3 is supposed to be pretty good. Have fun when you go to see it.
Ditto on the "hearing it’s good" thing.
Good luck tonight with the Spurs! It’s going to be a very interesting series. I’m almost afraid to pick a side!
I totally agree with you about Rhames, Bacchus. He’s an excellent actor. It’s kinda unfortunate that he’s got such a huge physical presense because I’m sure that limits the availability of his roles at times–but it also brings a lot of punch to the roles that he does perform. He’s like a force of nature and yet, as you say, he’s got a calm centered aspect to his personality that can really work and transcends the characters that he plays. On the other hand, I don’t like the MI series. Not so much the movies themselves but more that they just aren’t like the TV series. I’d love movies that take that theme of master covert undercover agents that make things happen and then disappear with no one ever the wiser that they were even there. Magic! With the Tom Cruise MI movies, there’s never any doubt that the agents are around. Boom, crash, explosion!
