The Daddyblogger Valentine’s Day Tag
Now that the Super bowl is over, it’s time to divert our attention to another anticipated date: Valentin’s Day!!!
I consider Daddy Bloggers to be some of the most responsible men on the planet, but even good men can use friendly reminders. Over the years I have learned one very important thing about women, they love to get flowers on Valentine’s Day. Your sweetheart may be different, but chances are she loves to answer the door when there is a delivery man holding a big long box wrapped with a red ribbon. Plus, by carrying out this act of love and or admiration, you are bound to receive “Extra Lovin Points” that can be redeemed at a later time.
So to celebrate this day I am tagging some of my fellow daddy bloggers and asking them to do a post reminding their readers to send flowers candy or whatever they deem necessary to their loved ones.
So to my fellow Daddy Bloggers,
“I want a bottle of wine that tastes like you, and a glass that’s never empty.”–Movie, A Good Year

The key is to not wait until the last minute, because prices could double by next week.
Here are a few things to get you started
Visit Proflowers.com
I have used them for years and only had one problem that they corrected immediately. The flowers come directly from the grower and the buds may need a day to open. I always have mine delivered the day before so that on Valentine’s they look fantastic. They have a couple of discount specials going and you can enter the word, “Musers” in the microphone box during checkout. Sometimes you might end up with a free vase. See my other posts (post 1; post 2) for specific offers that still may be available.
Don’t Have A Sweetheart
Then make another loved one feel special. You can send a nice bouquet to your mother or grandmother and sign the card as though they are from your kids. This also works well for aunts, grandmothers, babysitters or some other caregiver. You won’t receive any points, but they may easily offer to watch the kids the next time you need an emergency sitter.
Baby-Momma(s)
They carried your seed for 9 months and my back starts hurting after carrying around my one-year old for 20 minutes. Do the right thing and don’t expect anything in return. Again, no points will be received but she may think twice before cursing your name in front of the kids again. [Read more →]

I dont need an iPhone….The Treo 680 Works Fine
I recently upgraded my Treo 650 Smartphone (PDA and Cell phone combo) to the 680 and have unleashed a monster of technology. Although I didn't have my 650 very long, going through the upgrade process forced me to look for better ways of using my smartphone. With the addition of Baby B to our family forces me to become more organized.
Having a kid teaches you how to mult-task, have more than one forces you to work small miracles on a daily basis.
Some of my favorite applications so far are below:
- SpashID-Gotta keep up with all your website logins and passwords
- SpashPhoto-The best photo organizer for the palm. Ditch the free one that comes with your device
- PocketQuicken- It's good to balance your check book everyonce in a while
- Documents to GO-Access Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents on your phone
- ZLaucher-A more appealing application laucher that allows you to customize the look of your device
- Datebook-The best calendar around. Ditch the free one that comes with your device
- IconManager-Not really necessary but helps with Datebook above
- Snappermail-I am testing this out right now, but like the ability to save emails to my SD card and organize folders
I have visited a number of websites to help with this upgrade process and Treonauts published a post that shows how a power user uses his device on a daily basis. See the link below

Whole Foods to Phase Out Plastic Grocery Bags
Dallas Morning News and it reminded me that since I collect all types of bags (See 100 Things about Me), that I should use my canvas grocery bags I keep in the trunk of my car more often. We could save our landfills by using reusable grocery bags so I remembered another solution for those of you that would like to participate in saving our environment.
I saw a short story on a couple of women on TV who started a bag company just for this purpose How Green is Your Bag .
The Haute Market Bags are functionable, fashionable and earth-friendly
- Easy to Clean
- Holds more that regular plastic Bags
- Stands up and easy to fold
- Looks good enough for many more purposes.
