Soprano Talk Week 1 & The Whack Attack Contest

What a first episode titled: “Members Only” Greatness is back!

Is it me or did the episode jump around to you? Yep, Tony gained weight. How many of us have done the “take your clothes off “to get on the scale thing. I just knew that the inheritance guy was going to be the first to get it, but what a shocker. When he grabbed for the seashell, that’s when I knew he would take the easy way out.

Junior shooting Tony was golden, so unexpected. Seeing Tony crawl on the floor was worth the lack of flow. Of course he’s not dead, but it sets things up for the rest of the season. Anyone have any guess what’s going to happen next.

Sopranos Whack Attack Contest
I am starting a Sopranos Whack Attack Contest for people to post and give their predictions as to who will be the next character “Whacked” on the show. Please leave a comment stating which character will get the axe next and why. The person(s) who guess the correct character will share 10 BE (Blog Explosion Credits).

Simple Rules:
You can only vote once
Once someone is whacked everyone can change their vote until the next hit.

American Idol and the reason reality TV shows go downhill after the 2nd season

I was on the American Idol bandwagon early on and loved the first season. I had an opportunity to watch the auditions and couldn’t believe how bad some of the participants sounded. I picked some favorites and followed them throughout the competition. Unfortunately, I lose interest after a reality show’s second season and I think I have finally figured it out. Reality shows lose their reality once future show participants have had an opportunity to view the first two seasons prior to auditioning. I feel that the participants start taking on roles and acting rather than be themselves.

The first reality show I watched was Real World in New York. I didn’t watch it during the first-run, but got hooked during a back-to-back weekend fest of the show. That first season was a classic and the second one in California also had great entertainment. The same could be said for Survivor and the Apprentice. The first two seasons had real participants and not pretenders, wanna be’s, or posers.

American Idol has suffered the same fate, and I have lost interest during the auditions this year. I really believe that the people who auditioned during the first two seasons really thought they could sing, but now I have gotten the feeling people were trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

So now that all the pretenders are gone, I am going to pick up the show from here on out. Right now I am pulling for Paris, Mandissa and the grey-haired guy. I have only watched clips of their performances, so I reserve the right to change my mind several times before the final episode.
